Abstract
In today’s energy scenario, gasification seems to be an effective utilization of the fossile fuel like coal or biowaste. Though many developed technologies available for the gasifier manufacturing; there is an unresolved question of proper handling of the waste streams generated from the gasification system from environment point of view. Here in this paper it has been tried to cover many treatment technologies or alternates for these waste streams generated from the system. Gaseous emissions can be controlled by using absorption and flare system. Tar having high calorific value can be substituted as an alternate fuel for heat generation. Ash or soot can have many alternate beneficial uses and liquid waste stream can be treated with series of biological or physiochemical treatments.
