Abstract
Chhattisgarh state is widely popular as handloom industry. It involves the process of weaving which is done on a machine called loom. Numbers of active looms present in public and private handloom sector are studied in context of different parts of Chhattisgarh state. Secondary data is used to collect the required information. The present study reveals that Janjgir-Champa appears with highest number of active looms while Kabirdham shows least number of active looms in all over Chhattisgarh state. Amongst all areas of Chhattisgarh state, Central area of Chhattisgarh comprises of maximum number of active looms.
