Abstract
This review paper shows the effectiveness of earthworms during treatment of waste water. They are used to treat organic pollutants from waste water using mechanism of degradation. Earthworms enhanced the stabilization of organic matter. They are generally known as environmental engineers. They generally remove average COD 84.4%, BOD 91.8%, TDS 97% & TSS 97.4% respectively. It is found that out of all earthworms E. Fetida is highly effective than other worms. It also helps in the treatment of different industrial waste water of Dairy, Geltine, Palm oil mills and fruit industries.
