Abstract
In this study, based on the literature review ofAluminium Metal matrix composites and combined effect of reinforcements on aluminium alloys are discussed. For the preparation of the composites Aluminium is taken as base metal and varying weight percentage of Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2).The composite of Aluminium and MoS2 is prepared by stir casting technique. A series of mechanical tests are conducted on fabricated composite specimen and optimisation of Metal Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface roughness. For machining of the reinforced composite specimen, Wire-EDM process is used as it conforms to easy control and can machine intricate and complex shapes.
